Nut Graf

A nut graf gives a story context. It allows the readers to know why the story is important and matters. It will also tell the reader why they should continue to read. A nut graf will provide a transition from the lead to the rest of the story as well. A nut graph can be as short as a single sentence, but also as long as an entire paragraph. The are very important when it comes to stories that aren't hard news.
